Last week, we featured a blog from AmeriCares on their Haiti relief efforts. We will continue to follow this theme disaster relief effort. AmeriCares has been documenting their experiences in Haiti through an online blog and video. Here’s the most recent post, with AmeriCares now pledging $50 million in Haiti aid.
AmeriCares Pledges $50 Million in Aid for Haiti
AmeriCares is increasing its commitment to help the people of Haiti by pledging to deliver $50 million in aid to help rebuild the country’s health care system. Several hospitals, clinics and nursing schools collapsed during the earthquake, killing dedicated health care providers and destroying critical medical equipment. Medicines and supplies were ruined in the disaster; what remained was quickly depleted by throngs of injured earthquake survivors. Help AmeriCares Save Lives in Haiti »

One Month After the Haiti Earthquake, AmeriCares Relief Still Desperately Needed

One month ago, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti taking at least 200,000 lives, injuring 300,000 and leaving over one million men, women and children homeless. Within days of the disaster, AmeriCares delivered an emergency airlift of medical relief to the battered Port-au-Prince airport. With the help of AmeriCares disaster relief experts who were already on the ground, nearly $14 million in lifesaving aid has been delivered to help Haitian earthquake survivors. The answer came back as the Andy Willoughby Promise Co-Op. We joined the Co-Op and got our first leads in December. Andy shared his 3 Step Plan Goodness Project and how you could feed the starving children around the world, and build a home-base business as well.
We have been inviting guests to the Thursday night business presentation that is only 25 minutes to present the business opportunity. Out of my first two leads we had one person join our crusade and become a meal pack donor and wants us to help him bring on more meal pack donors. We are excited to watch our business grow with the 3 step meal pack plan and are targeting 3000 meals per month, each and every month going out to feed the starving children and to establish extra money to other charities and organizations.
This 3 Step Plan from Andy Willoughby and the meal packs has given us the chance to retire 2 years earlier than previously planned, and to do what we always wanted to do (to feed the starving children and to have extra funds to retire early). There’s undoubtedly been a lot of coverage on the tragedy in Haiti, Additionally, there are other less fortunate countries which are in severe need of food and provisions as well. While XanGo has been giving aid to Haiti during this critical time, it has also been focused on other nations in need. Meal packs have been sent to nations such as El Salvador, Ghana, Kenya, Myanmar, Zimbabwe and Cambodia to help in the respective challenges each country is enduring.
Malnourishment is the common threat for all of the nations listed above, but there are even more specific conditions these meal packs help address. For Haiti, the meal packs are aiding them throughout the earthquake tragedy. In Ghana, there’s a very high infant mortality rate, as well as pre-natal defects. These meal packs help provide better nourishment to the expecting mothers in Ghana. Children in El Salvador are also benefiting from the meal packs, as the results are being clearly displayed in their academics and school attendance. In Kenya, hundreds of thousands of people have been moved from their homes because of the vast amount of violence in the country. The hope for these meal packs are to resolve at least one of the concerns Kenyans have at this time.

With the recent devastating events in Haiti, many organizations have reached out to help. I want to highlight XanGo’s efforts to provide relief for the people of Haiti by delivering meal packs. I have provided a link to their Web site where XanGo CEO Robert Conlee, explains his companies efforts to support the nation of Haiti.
In the past few days, the world has heard and seen harrowing accounts of the human suffering in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti on Tuesday. It is no surprise to us at XanGo that many distributors have expressed a desire to help provide XanGo Meal Packs and other humanitarian aid to this hard-hit island nation.
